The Eagles have announced their final tour, called “The Long Goodbye,” which is expected to last until 2025. The band expressed their gratitude and acknowledged that it is time to bring their journey to a close. The tour will begin on September 7 at Madison Square Garden in New York and will include stops in Boston, Denver, Atlanta, and St. Paul, among others. Presale tickets and VIP packages will be available starting July 12, with the general on-sale beginning on July 14.
Joining the Eagles on this farewell tour will be Steely Dan, who will also be celebrating their own five-decade career. The Eagles stated that they will play as many shows in each market as demanded by the audience, even if it means returning to certain cities. Since the passing of founding member Glenn Frey in 2016, the band has been joined on stage by Vince Gill and eacon Frey, Glenn’s son.
After Glenn Frey’s death, there were indications that the Eagles would no longer tour, but they resumed regular live performances after participating in classic-rock festivals in 2017. Over their 50-year touring career, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers and six-time Grammy winners have played over 1,000 concerts. Their recently concluded Hotel California Tour, which featured the album played in its entirety with a backing orchestra, grossed around $250 million from 90 shows.
The band expressed their gratitude to fans for their years of support and assured them that although this is their farewell tour, the music will continue to live on.
